After graduating in jurisprudence and obtaining a postgraduate degree in European and International Law, Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf, a qualified lawyer, became a lecturer in copyright and media law at the University of Bremen and at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, where he now lectures as a honorary professor. Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf was then a practising lawyer in a major Bremen law firm - including many years as a partner - and established the department for IT, copyright and media law. During that period, Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf was also the legal officer of one of the eleven royalty collecting societies authorized in Germany.

Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf is a Certified Lawyer for Information Technology Law (IT-Law) and a Certified Lawyer for Copyright and Media Law.

Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf acts as a accredited IT-conciliator for the German Society for Law and Computer Science (DGRI) .

Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf is one of the 15 German panelists for arguments over .eu-domainnames at the Arbitration Center for .eu Disputes in Prag as well as one of the 37 experts who have been choosen as Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) Panelists for the Czech Arbitration Court and the only appointed panelist from Germany at the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) for disputes in regards to the international top level domain names .aero, .biz, .cat, .com, .coop, .info, .jobs, .mobi, .museum, .name, .net, .org, .pro, .tel und .travel. The ADNDRC is a joint undertaking by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Korean Internet Address Dispute Resolution Commitee (KIDRC) and the Kuala Lumpur Reginal Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA).

Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf is training supervisor at the DeutscheAnwaltAkademie for courses of lectures lawyers have to attend to become a "Certified Lawyer for Information Technology Law (IT-Law)" or a "Certified Lawyer for Copyright and Media Law".

Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf is chairman of the joint committee of the North Saxon Bar Associations, the Bar Association of Schleswig-Holstein and the Hanseatic Bar Association in Bremen for the certification of IT-lawyers and the local representiv of the Working Group Information Technology (DAV IT) of the German Association of Lawyers (DAV).

Prof. Dr. L. Grosskopf is a member of the advisory committee [Landesrundfunkausschuss] of the media authority in Bremen.
